Our Client are a leading British Manufacturer within the Materials Handling sector.
Currently recruiting for an IT Systems Engineer.
Hours of work: 7.00am to 4:00pm (30 Minutes lunch) Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 1.00pm on Fridays.
Primary Location: Stourport
The Role:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, desktops, and network infrastructure
- Provide technical support to users across the organisation
- Monitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Assist with cybersecurity measures including patching, antivirus, backups, and access controls
- Maintain IT documentation, asset registers, and support procedures
- Support cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Work with external suppliers and vendors where required
- Participate in IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and system deployments
- Adhering to all relevant ISO processes and policies
- The role also includes a number of other smaller administrative and coordination tasks
The Candidate:
- Previous experience in an IT Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role
Strong knowledge of:
- Windows Server environments
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
- Virtualisation technologies
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
- Strong work ethic
- Use of initiative
- Azure or AWS cloud experience
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and best practices
- PowerShell scripting knowledge
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco
- Experience of Sage 200 would be desirable
- Experience of working within a factory setting would be an advantage
