Disaster Recovery Programme Manager

Disaster Recovery Programme Manager

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite – Milton Keynes preferred or London)

Rate: £650–£725 per day (via umbrella)

We are working with a client seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Programme Manager to lead the development and delivery of a group-wide DR capability following a recent audit. This is a greenfield opportunity where you will shape the strategy, define the roadmap, and take the organisation on the journey to a mature, resilient state.

You will own the programme end-to-end, working closely with a Solutions Architect and reporting into the Head of Technology Operations (C-Suite). The role will span infrastructure and applications, with a focus on building a robust DR framework and leading towards an RFI/RFP for an external partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the Disaster Recovery programme from inception to execution
  • Define DR strategy, roadmap, and target operating model
  • Engage senior stakeholders and “win hearts and minds” across the organisation
  • Work with architecture teams to shape scalable DR solutions across hybrid environments
  • Establish governance, risk management, and reporting structures
  • Lead vendor engagement and drive RFI/RFP processes for partner selection
  • Oversee delivery across infrastructure and application layers

Key Experience Required

  • Proven experience delivering Disaster Recovery or IT Resilience programmes
  • Strong background in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud, ideally Azure)
  • Experience operating in audit-driven or low-maturity environments
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational change
  • Experience with governance frameworks and working in process-heavy environments
  • Exposure to vendor management and partner selection processes

This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to build a Disaster Recovery capability from the ground up within a complex, enterprise environment.
