Lead UX Designer – User-Centred Design & Digital Experience

We’re partnering with a major UK organisation to recruit a Lead UX Designer to help evolve their user-centred design capability and ensure that every digital product is built around real customer needs.

This is a business where UX isn’t just a department — it’s at the core of how products are imagined, tested and delivered. You’ll join an experienced and collaborative UX team, taking a lead role in driving design standards, influencing stakeholders, and mentoring the next generation of designers.

The Role

  • Lead and influence the adoption of User Centred Design (UCD) across multiple product teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of design methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Build trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders and advocate for customer-centric design.
  • Facilitate ideation, prototyping, and user testing to co-create effective solutions.
  • Present complex customer insights through journey maps, personas, flows and service blueprints.
  • Champion accessibility standards, applying WCAG 2.2 to ensure inclusive design.
  • Collaborate closely with Service Designers to understand full end-to-end journeys.
  • Support delivery teams through to implementation and post-launch evaluation.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to develop and grow UX team capability.

About You

  • Passionate about mentoring, coaching and developing design talent.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to embed UCD principles across the business.
  • Proven experience as a Senior or Lead UX/Product Designer across web, mobile and multi-platform experiences.
  • Comfortable using user research, data insights and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Experienced in producing detailed designs, prototypes and accessible digital experiences.
  • Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
  • Naturally collaborative, thrives in cross-functional agile teams.
  • Enjoys driving continuous improvement and innovation in design practice.
