Senior Project Manager – Identity & Access Management

Location: Hampshire/Hybrid working

Contract Length: 6+ months

Rate: Up to £620 per day

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to lead major identity transformation initiatives within a large, complex organisation. You will take ownership of the delivery of enterprise identity platforms and services, including Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies. You will be instrumental in ensuring identity capabilities are secure, scalable, and aligned with wider cybersecurity and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of IAM programmes and multiple workstream projects
  • Oversee the deployment and integration of Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and SSO solutions
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, delivery schedules, milestones, and dependencies
  • Coordinate delivery across security, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams
  • Ensure identity solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and compliance requirements
  • Own and manage RAID logs, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues
  • Chair governance forums, steering groups, and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Engage closely with business and technical stakeholders to manage requirements through to delivery
  • Manage third-party suppliers and system integrators as part of programme delivery
  • Contribute to the ongoing identity strategy and continuous improvement of IAM capabilities

Skills & Experience Required

  • Extensive experience delivering identity and IAM transformation programmes as a Senior Project Manager
  • Strong practical knowledge of Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and SSO technologies
  • Solid understanding of authentication, access governance, and identity lifecycle management
  • Track record delivering large-scale enterprise IT or security-led programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including engagement with senior leadership
  • Experience managing complex programmes with multiple dependencies and workstreams
  • Strong governance, reporting, and delivery assurance capability
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, delivery partners, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in regulated, security-focused, or large enterprise environments

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with Agile and/or ITIL delivery frameworks
  • Exposure to Zero Trust or identity‐centric security models
  • Knowledge of Azure and hybrid identity environments
  • Background in regulated sectors such as Public Sector or Utilities
