Business Analyst - Central Government Experience Essential | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid

We are recruiting an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of working within UK Central Government. This experience is essential due to the scale, governance and complexity of the programme.

This is a hands on, delivery focused role. You will work closely with stakeholders, product teams and technical specialists to shape business needs, define clear requirements and guide delivery from discovery through to implementation.

• Engage central government stakeholders to understand business needs, processes and challenges
• Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements
• Translate requirements into user stories, process flows and other Agile artefacts
• Work closely with delivery and engineering teams to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder discussions
• Support testing through the creation of acceptance criteria and validation of outputs
• Bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous delivery environments

• Proven experience working within UK Central Government (mandatory)
• Strong Business Analyst background
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working across complex, multi-system environments
• Demonstrable ability to capture, refine and manage detailed requirements
• Background in Agile or hybrid delivery environments

• Broader UK public sector experience
• Experience supporting large transformation or modernisation programmes
• Exposure to cloud migration, system integrations, data flows or API-driven environments
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams (e.g., Java, cloud, platform)
• Background in regulated or highly complex enterprise environments may be considered if central government experience is also present
