Senior Service Designer (SC Cleared)

Location: London (Hybrid)Contract Length: 6 months IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

We are looking for an experienced Senior Service Designer to support a high-profile UK Government programme. This role requires someone who can operate at a strategic, organisational level, leading and embedding User-Centred Design (UCD) across a complex, multi-workstream environment.

You will play a key role in shaping and improving end-to-end services, ensuring alignment with GDS standards and delivering meaningful outcomes for users, teams, and stakeholders.

• Lead and embed full UCD practice across a priority public-sector programme
• Operate at strategic and organisational level, overseeing multiple streams of work
• Influence senior stakeholders and support evidence-based decision-making
• Define, test, and improve end-to-end operational workflows
• Ensure services meet GDS and Government Service Standard requirements
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary delivery teams

• Significant Public Sector Service Design experience
• Proven delivery within UK Government departments
• Strong understanding and application of GDS standards
• Extensive experience delivering UCD at scale
• Ability to lead, influence, and add value across complex programmes
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience working across large or complex transformation programmes
• Background operating at senior or organisational design level

• Active SC Clearance is essential
• 6-month initial contract
• Inside IR35
