AI Business Analyst

Rate: £400 - £430 Per Day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)

Duration: 3 months intiial

Location: Home based/Remote working with travel to UK client sites

We are seeking a consulting candidate with strong business analysis and emerging technology experience, particularly relating to AI tools and platforms. The successful candidate will lead and deliver an end-to-end AI tools audit and discovery exercise, working closely with client stakeholders across business and technology functions.

Our client is seeking support to better understand, assess, and rationalise the use of AI tools and AI-enabled solutions across their organisation. This engagement will focus on discovery, assessment, and opportunity identification, helping the client build a clear view of current capabilities, risks, and future value opportunities.

The role requires someone comfortable operating at the intersection of business, data, technology, and risk, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities -

  • AI Tools Discovery & Mapping- Identify and catalogue existing AI tools, platforms, and use cases across the organisation (e.g. generative AI, automation, ML-driven analytics)
  • AI tools inventory and discovery summary
  • Assessment of current-state AI maturity and risks
  • Identified value opportunities and rationalisation options
  • Prioritised recommendations and next-step roadmap
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Insights & Recommendations
  • Consulting Delivery

Required Experience & Skills -

  • Proven experience working as an AI focused Business Analyst
  • Strong track record of business analysis, discovery, and assessment-based engagements
  • AI / Advanced Technology exposure
  • Hands-on involvement with AI-related initiatives (e.g. AI tools assessments, automation, analytics, GenAI use cases)
  • Good understanding of AI concepts, limitations, risks, and practical business applications (depth over theory)
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management (Confident engaging with senior stakeholders)
  • Able to explain AI topics clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Strong workshop facilitation and documentation skills
  • Experience in regulated environments
