Location: Telford (2 days a week on site)

Contract: Inside IR35 Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

Must have experience working in the government sector

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a multi-disciplinary team supporting ongoing change within a large central government programme. You'll work with both business and technology stakeholders to define, document, and deliver changes to existing systems in a complex technical environment.

This is a delivery-focused role, requiring strong analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills. You'll collaborate closely with architects, SMEs, delivery leads, and other BAs to ensure business needs are clearly translated into deliverable solutions.

• Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.

• Conduct gap, impact, and process analysis to inform solution design.

• Produce functional and non-functional specifications for delivery teams.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Design Authorities, and technical SMEs to shape and validate solutions.

• Engage with Delivery Leads, Engagement Managers, and Business Analysts to align on business outcomes.

• Apply Agile principles where possible, while adapting to hybrid or traditional delivery approaches when required.

Proven experience as a Business Analyst in central government or public sector environments.? Strong understanding of complex technical landscapes and system integration.? Knowledge of CESA highly preferred (not essential).? Excellent skills in requirements elicitation, process mapping, and impact analysis.? Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.? Familiarity with systems using Java, COBOL, SQL, and Oracle technologies.? Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
