Multiple Data Engineer Roles - 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Location: 1 day onsite per month
Duration: 6 months (programme running until 2028)
Clearance: Active HMRC SC

A major central government programme is recruiting multiple Data Engineers to support a long-term transformation initiative. The programme runs until 2028, offering long-term continuity and varied work across a wide technology landscape.

Candidates must hold active SC or be willing to undergo an SC transfer.

Required Technical Experience (Combined Across All Roles)

Candidates must have experience in one or more of the following technologies/areas:

• Pentaho
• Pentaho BA
• Talend/Talend ETL
• Informatica
• Denodo
• SQL
• Oracle/Oracle RDS
• Oracle SQL Developer
• MySQL
• Python
• UNIX Scripting
• AWS
• Data ETL product experience
• Exposure to Generative AI
• Grafana monitoring
• SAS/SAS Viya
• Atlassian Jira
• General engineering background

These roles span a wide technical footprint, so specialists from multiple data engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Clearance Requirements

1. Candidates with active SC

2. Candidates with SC from another government department

• Must complete BPSS first (approx. 3 weeks)
• Then complete an SC transfer (approx. 8-10 weeks)
• Total lead time to start: 12-13 weeks

Working Model

• 1 day onsite per month
• Remainder remote
• 6-month contract, extensions expected
• Programme funded through 2028
