Role Overview
TXP is seeking an SC Cleared AWS Technical Architect to provide independent technical assurance of a live service. The role will focus on reviewing architecture, engineering practices, operational readiness, security and service resilience, producing clear findings and recommendations for our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the existing AWS architecture and service design.
• Assess scalability, resilience, security and maintainability.
• Evaluate engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, testing and documentation.
• Identify technical risks, debt and operational issues.
• Conduct independent assurance and challenge supplier evidence.
• Produce assurance reports and prioritised recommendations.
• Present findings to technical and senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Active SC Clearance.
• AWS architecture expertise (EKS, MSK/Kafka, RDS PostgreSQL, ElastiCache/Redis, S3, ECR, CloudFront, WAF, KMS, SSM Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, IAM/IRSA, Terraform/Terragrunt IaC).
• Experience reviewing live production systems.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD and operational support models.
• Technical assurance, architecture review or audit experience.
• Public sector and GDS service assessment experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.

Ideal Candidate A Principal/Lead Architect with experience independently assessing cloud-based government services, identifying risks and providing pragmatic recommendations to support service maturity and long-term sustainability.
