Senior PowerApps Front-End Developer - 6-Month Contract (Hybrid, Bristol)
Location: Hybrid - Bristol, UK Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)Clearance: Active SC Clearance required due to timescale of the project
As a Senior PowerApps Front-End Developer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of user-facing applications built on Microsoft Power Platform. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver intuitive, accessible, and high-performing services that meet user needs and align with government and enterprise standards.
This role is focused on defining and maintaining front-end development standards within the Power Platform ecosystem, ensuring modern web development practices are applied to scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of Canvas and Model-Driven PowerApps applications.
 - Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using PowerApps and PowerApps Component Framework (PCF).
 - Collaborate with UX designers, product owners, and back-end developers to deliver integrated solutions.
 - Ensure applications are performant across devices and browsers, with a focus on progressive enhancement and accessibility.
 - Integrate PowerApps with Microsoft services (SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365) and external APIs.
 - Define and enforce development standards, reusable components, and best practices.
 - Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Power Platform deployments.
 - Troubleshoot and optimize apps for performance, delegation limits, and data connectivity.
 
- Power Platform: PowerApps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse
 - Front-End Development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
 - Frameworks & UI Libraries: Fluent UI, Office UI Fabric, Bootstrap, LESS/SASS
 - Custom Development: PowerApps Component Framework (PCF), custom connectors
 - Integration & Data: REST APIs, SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Excel, Dynamics 365
 - DevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory
 - Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS (desirable)
 - Security & Governance: Role-based access control, DLP policies, environment strategy
 
- Experience with Java (Spring Boot, Jersey, Maven) for back-end integration
 - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and government digital service standards
 - Knowledge of Power BI for embedded analytics and reporting
 - Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles
 
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade PowerApps solutions
 - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
 - Ability to mentor junior developers and influence technical direction
