Infrastructure DBA (SQL Server & PostgreSQL)

📍 Manchester | Remote First (typically once a month in the office). You can be based anywhere within the UK as long as you are happy to come into the office in Manchester once a month.

💷 Up to £50,000 + On-Call + Benefits

Most DBA roles are about keeping the lights on. This isn't one of them.

You'll be joining a Manchester fintech whose platform helps move billions of pounds between major enterprises and banking institutions across the UK.

This role sits somewhere between a traditional DBA and a Database Reliability Engineer, giving you ownership of a modern SQL Server and PostgreSQL estate running in the cloud.

You'll be working on:

✅ Performance tuning & query optimisation

✅ Deadlocks, indexing & execution plans

✅ Database reliability & resilience

✅ Automation & Infrastructure as Code

✅ Cloud technologies including GCP CloudSQL, BigQuery and Terraform

The business is far more interested in strong database fundamentals than ticking every technology box.

If you enjoy solving problems, optimising workloads and getting to the root cause of complex issues, you'll fit in well here.
