Lead Platform Engineer (AWS)
Lead Platform Engineer - up to £100,000 base salary + Benefits - Hybrid, Manchester
Why would you apply for this role?
Well, you’re a good engineer. And 9 times out of 10, good engineers don’t move often.
They move when something is clearly better.
This is one of those.
Let’s get the money out of the way first. They’re paying up to a £100K base salary + strong package, which is right up there for Manchester.
If that works, keep reading.
You’ll be employee number 50 or so at a tech-first business, not one-thousand-and-something. You’ll have real impact and ownership here - no red tape, just freedom to build.
You’ll be shaping the platform properly. AWS environments, CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, all the foundations that let teams build and ship properly.
It’s not just about keeping things running. It’s about improving how engineering works. Better pipelines, better patterns, less friction.
You’ll stay hands-on. This isn’t a role where you drift away from the tech.
The team is strong. Most of the company is made up of senior engineers, a collaborative environment and not working 100-hour weeks.
They’ve got a Manchester office, but it’s flexible. You can go in when it makes sense, not because someone’s watching a spreadsheet; most of the team go in 2 days a week! They are based in the city centre.
Tech-wise, you’re looking at AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, containers, and observability tooling.
Why wouldn’t you apply?
No need a for CV, you can apply with your LinkedIn profile. We can cross the CV bridge later!
