I’m working with a fast-growing SaaS AI startup automating operational workflows in a highly regulated UK industry.

Their product is already live - handling admin, communication, and compliance tasks helping teams save time, cut costs, and avoid missed processes.

They’re now hiring a Lead Python / AI Engineer to help scale the platform.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for building and scaling AI-powered systems, influencing technical direction, and mentoring engineers as the team grows. You’ll also lead a small team of 2 engineers, with the opportunity to expand and shape the team as the company scales.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a startup environment where things are moving quickly, taking ownership, and operating with a high level of autonomy.

What They’re Looking For

✅7-10 years of software engineering experience (ideally AI, SaaS or automation)

✅Strong Python skills

✅Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django

✅Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment

✅Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and microservices

✅Experience with data pipelines, Git, and CI/CD

✅Ability to lead projects and support others

✅Strong problem-solving and communication skills
