The Company

I am working with a well-established consultancy partner that supports major public sector clients across procurement, commercial and transformation programmes. Due to continued demand across IT and digital procurement, they are looking to appoint a Management Consultant into a newly created role.

The Role

This is a client-facing consulting role focused on IT procurement, digital services and commercial delivery across complex public sector environments.

You will support clients with procurement strategy, sourcing activity, stakeholder engagement and cost-saving initiatives, while translating technical requirements into practical commercial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support public sector IT procurement and digital services projects.
  • Advise clients on procurement strategy, route to market, sourcing options and commercial approach.
  • Deliver measurable cost savings, efficiencies and value improvement across technology categories.
  • Work with senior technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape clear procurement solutions.
  • Produce high-quality commercial documentation, recommendations, reports and presentations.

What They Are Looking For:

  • Strong public sector procurement experience, ideally across central government, MOD, health or transport.
  • Good IT, technology or digital services procurement experience.
  • Knowledge of the new Procurement Act and public sector procurement requirements.
  • Proven track record of delivering savings, cost reduction and commercial value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

Useful Experience:

  • Digital services, software, infrastructure, managed services, cloud or wider technology procurement.
  • Experience translating technical IT requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Consultancy or client-facing advisory experience.
  • Experience working across complex, high-value procurement projects.
  • A stable career history, or clear rationale for interim, contract or FTC moves.

The Person

This role would suit someone commercially sharp, confident with senior stakeholders and comfortable working in a consulting-style environment.

You will need to be able to challenge constructively, sell ideas, gain buy-in and bring people with you through complex procurement decisions.

Why This Role?

  • Join a growing area with strong demand across public sector IT and digital procurement.
  • Work on complex, high-value client assignments with genuine impact.
  • Home-based role with varied client-facing work.
  • Opportunity to move into, or build further experience within, consulting.
  • Strong platform for someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement and commercial problem-solving.
