Data Manager | Remote | Full Time | £50,000£65,000 per annumAs mining and metals become increasingly critical to global supply chains and the energy transition, responsible production is essential to meeting growing demand sustainably.Our client works with companies across metals value chains to promote responsible production practices that support sustainable development, reduce environmental impact, and benefit local communities, customers, and consumers.The RoleThe Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing and improving the organisations data systems, ensuring data is accurate, secure, well-managed, and effectively used across the organisation.Key responsibilities:Implement and maintain information management policies and data management proceduresEnsure compliance with privacy, confidentiality, retention, and security requirementsOversee data storage, retention, version control, and disposal processesEstablish and monitor data quality standards across systemsSupport implementation and improvement of organisational systems, workflows, and reporting toolsImplement data validation and quality controls for core datasetsSupport development of dashboards and reporting processesCoordinate external managed service providers (MSPs) to maintain system continuity and performanceSupport staff in accessing, interpreting, and using data effectivelyAssist with data extraction, reporting, and analysis for assurance, standards, and governanceSupport onboarding, training, and adoption of data systemsIdentify and implement process improvements and escalate data-related risksSupport change management across systems, governance, and process improvementsWhat Were Looking ForDemonstrable experience in data management, information governance, records management, or a related operational roleStrong understanding of data quality principles, data lifecycle management, and information governance frameworksExperience working with shared data environments, SaaS platforms, workflow tools, and reporting environmentsExperience coordinating or managing data-related projects, including system implementations, integrations, migrations, or process improvementsExperience working with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and managed service providersProficiency in both Mac and PC environmentsAbility to translate policies and procedures into clear, practical guidanceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working independently while collaborating across teamsHighly organised, methodical, and trustworthy with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protectionProactive, improvement-focused, and pragmatic in approachWhats In It For You12-month fixed-term contractRemote working35-hour work week with flexible hoursRequired overlap across Europe and North America time zones25 days annual leave5% additional flexible benefits allowance (health, pension, wellness, workspace, professional development, and sustainability-related benefits)Opportunity to lead and shape the organisations future data infrastructureWork aligned to responsible production and sustainability initiatives globallyOccasional international travel as requiredWhats next?
