Senior Azure Platform Engineer - Farnborough (Hybrid) - SC Cleared - Salary up to £65,000We're looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-native platforms for highly regulated and mission-critical environments. This is an opportunity to work with modern Azure technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and automation, helping to build resilient platforms that support some of the UK's most important programmes.
The RoleAs a Senior Azure Platform Engineer, you'll take ownership of designing, building and supporting secure Azure infrastructure while working alongside architects, software engineers and delivery teams to create scalable, resilient cloud platforms.
You'll play a key role in improving platform reliability, security and automation while helping shape technical direction across cloud infrastructure.
What You'll Be DoingDesigning and maintaining Azure infrastructure across Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, networking, storage and databasesBuilding secure hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity using technologies such as Virtual WAN, VPNs and BGP routingImplementing Azure security best practices including RBAC, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud and network segmentationDesigning and maintaining Kubernetes environments for secure, scalable application deploymentsBuilding and improving CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software deliveryDeveloping Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and automation toolingImplementing monitoring and observability across cloud platformsDriving automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effortSupporting engineering teams with platform best practices and cloud adoptionContinuously improving platform performance, resilience and security as the environment evolves.
What We're Looking ForYou'll ideally have:5+ years' experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or similar cloud infrastructure rolesStrong Azure expertise, ideally supported by AZ-104 and AZ-305 certificationsExcellent knowledge of Azure networking including Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, BGP, NSGs and Private EndpointsStrong Kubernetes and container orchestration experienceExperience with Terraform and HashiCorp tooling such as Vault or PackerExperience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or similarStrong Git and version control knowledgeA passion for automation and modern DevOps practicesExcellent communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teamsExperience with JFrog products, Coder or additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud would be advantageous but isn't essential. Above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and continuously improving the platforms they build.
