Automation Technical Lead

The role
As Automation Technical Lead, you will take ownership of automation design, development, and delivery for a major CAPEX project. You will provide technical direction and act as the authority for automation and MES integration, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule targets are met.

Your focus will include:

- Leading and guiding third-party integrators and package unit suppliers to ensure seamless integration into the overall automation and operational technology (OT) landscape.

- Acting as a central technical point of contact for automation and MES topics, helping to resolve issues quickly and maintain project momentum.

- Driving alignment with established automation standards and enhancing best practices.

- Coordinating and approving technical documentation, design specifications, and validation protocols.

- Overseeing software configuration, coding, hardware specification, and control panel design.

- Supervising external engineering contractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

- Facilitating integration of Automation and MES with the site-wide historian system (OSI Pi).

- Providing expertise in DeltaV DCS configuration for utilities and process systems, environmental monitoring, and electronic logbook (eLogs) deployment.

 

What you bring

- Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Process Control, or related Engineering field (MSc/BSc preferred).

- Proven experience leading end-to-end automation and MES projects, ideally in the life sciences or other regulated industries.

- In-depth knowledge of systems such as DeltaV DCS, SAP, BMS, PCS, PLCs (Siemens), OSI Pi Historian, and GMP environments.

- Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. CFR 21 Part 11, GAMP 5).

- Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Experience in aseptic manufacturing environments (highly desirable).

- Fluency in English.
