VP Software Engineering [B2B SaaS - Dubai]

An established and rapidly scaling technology business is seeking a highly technical Chief Technology Officer [CTO] to lead the next phase of platform growth, AI adoption, and engineering transformation.

This is a hands-on executive leadership role for a technology leader who enjoys operating at both strategic and technical depth. You will own technology strategy, platform architecture, engineering delivery, cloud infrastructure, security, data, and AI initiatives while partnering closely with senior leadership to drive business growth and innovation.

The Opportunity

You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organisation responsible for building and scaling a mission-critical cloud platform serving customers across multiple international markets. The environment combines SaaS, AI, data, automation, APIs, and high-volume transaction processing, creating a unique opportunity to shape the future direction of the business

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technology vision and engineering roadmap.
• Lead platform architecture across cloud-native and microservices-based environments.
• Drive AI-first engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development, testing, and automation.
• Oversee engineering delivery, platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Lead the development of AI-powered products and intelligent automation capabilities.
• Own cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Build and develop high-performing engineering, DevOps, platform, and data teams across multiple locations.
• Drive engineering productivity, quality, and continuous improvement through modern software delivery practices.
• Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic investment decisions.
• Act as a key technology advisor to the executive leadership team, board members, investors, and strategic partners.

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of experience leading engineering organisations as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Engineering.
• Proven success scaling complex SaaS or platform businesses.
• Strong background in cloud architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and modern software engineering.
• Experience building and deploying AI, machine learning, data, or automation solutions in production environments.
• Deep understanding of security, compliance, risk management, and enterprise-grade technology operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large engineering teams across multiple geographies.
• A leader who remains technically engaged and can challenge architectural decisions when required.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate technology strategy into business outcomes.
