FinOps Executive Leader
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Executive-level FinOps consultant to define and deliver a group-wide FinOps strategy across a complex, global infrastructure estate spanning cloud and on-premise environments.
This is a high-impact advisory role within a tier one banking environment, requiring someone who can operate confidently at CIO, CTO, and CFO level, shaping strategy, influencing investment decisions, and driving financial accountability across technology.
You will be responsible for establishing a clear FinOps vision, operating model, and roadmap, ensuring cost transparency, optimisation, and governance are Embedded across the organisation.
The Role
Define and lead the enterprise-wide FinOps strategy across multi-cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
Engage with senior executives (CIO, CTO, CFO, Finance, and Business Leadership) to align technology spend with business outcomes.
Establish a FinOps operating model, including governance, accountability, and financial controls.
Develop a strategic roadmap covering cost visibility, optimisation, forecasting, and chargeback/showback models.
Drive cost transparency and reporting frameworks across cloud platforms and traditional infrastructure.
Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities without compromising performance, resilience, or security.
Align FinOps practices with regulatory and financial governance requirements within a banking environment.
Influence engineering, architecture, and finance teams to embed cost-aware design principles.
Define KPIs and success measures for ongoing FinOps maturity and value realisation.
Provide executive-level reporting and insight into technology spend, trends, and optimisation outcomes.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience delivering FinOps strategy at enterprise scale within large, complex organisations.
Strong track record of operating at executive stakeholder level, including C-suite engagement.
Deep understanding of cloud cost management across AWS, Azure, and GCP, alongside on-prem infrastructure cost models.
Experience designing and implementing FinOps operating models, governance frameworks, and cost controls.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align technology investment to business value.
Experience within financial services or highly regulated environments.
Ability to translate complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable executive insight.
Desirable Experience
FinOps certification or formal financial governance experience.
Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid infrastructure strategies.
Familiarity with cost management and observability tooling.
Exposure to large-scale technology transformation or cloud migration programmes.
