Automation Test Engineer

We're looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join a financial services client based in Sheffield. There will be a requirement to be in the office up to 3-days per week with some flexibility. The contract is also inside IR35.

The Role

We're looking for a sharp, proactive Automation Test Engineer to drive high-quality delivery across web, API, and cloud-based platforms. You'll focus mainly on automation, with occasional manual testing, and play a key role in building and enhancing automated test frameworks.

We're specifically looking for someone with strong experience in IAM and GCP.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation tooling, strong Java/SQL skills, and hands-on expertise with Selenium, WDIO/Cucumber, RestAssured, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab).
  • You'll develop and execute test plans, build scalable automation suites, review test coverage, collaborate with technical teams, and ensure defects are clearly tracked and resolved.
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, API testing, database comparisons, and tools like JIRA/Xephyr is essential.
  • Exposure to IAM, SailPoint, SCIM, REST, LDAP, OIDC, graph databases, or ServiceNow/AD integrations is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support and mentor team members are key.
