Design Lead – Digital Studio | eCommerce focus

Full-time – Hybrid | 2 days in East London Studio

Are you a digital designer with a strong graphic design eye and a passion for standout eCommerce? Are you user-obsessed and detail-oriented with an appetite for understanding technology and everything that makes for engaging eCommerce experiences?

This is an incredible opportunity to join a small, high-impact (not to mention Award-winning) team as a Design Lead (equivalent to a Senior Designer), creating memorable online experiences for brands that don’t want the cookie-cutter treatment. Our client is a design and technology studio that blends design excellence with innovative thinking. They’re seeking a confident and collaborative Design Lead to help craft original, pixel-perfect work across UX and UI – with the creative freedom to make real impact.

This role will:

  • Lead end-to-end digital design projects in eCommerce — from UX ideation through to refined UI.
  • Work closely with in-house Product and Engineering teams, you'll bring ideas to life that are not only beautiful but usable — and you’ll be confident explaining the design rationale to developers, keeping one eye on feasibility and execution.
  • Work iteratively using Figma and Agile methodologies to deliver clean, high-quality solutions.
  • Help shape the design culture within the studio and contribute to a growing creative team.

This role needs:

  • A minimum of 5 years' digital design experience , with a strong portfolio in eCommerce
  • At least 3 years in an agency or studio setting
  • A sharp eye for detail and high-quality craft — especially in graphic design, typography, and layout
  • A user-first mindset, with the ability to take concepts from UX through to UI in tools like Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • A confident communicator who can collaborate with engineers and product folks to get things shipped
  • Confidence and creativity — you focus on delivering value to customers and are keen to learn and improve.
  • Curiosity and proactivity — you stay on top of design trends and emerging tools
  • Bonus points for familiarity with prototyping or motion tools (e.g. After Effects)
