Location: London (2 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £40,000
We’re working with a retail group that is looking to hire a Linux System Administrator to join their infrastructure team.
This is a great opportunity for a Linux-focused systems administrator to work in a fast-paced retail environment supporting critical infrastructure across multiple well-known brands.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supporting and maintaining Linux-based systems that underpin key retail and operational platforms. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and experience managing services in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux servers in a production environment
- Manage system services using systemd and tools such as systemctl and journalctl
- Troubleshoot system issues, including disk space problems such as full /var partitions
- Configure and manage scheduled jobs using Cron and Crontab
- Monitor system health and resolve service start-up issues
- Work closely with internal teams to maintain a stable infrastructure
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong Linux administration experience
- Good understanding of system services and boot processes
- Experience troubleshooting Linux environments
- Knowledge of cron scheduling and automation tasks
- Comfortable working from the command line and diagnosing production issues
