💼 Inside IR35
Overview
We are delivering a major EPOS replacement and retail systems transformation within a large, complex retail organisation.
This is not a standard POS upgrade — it is a multi-year, £20m+ transformation programme spanning core retail systems, integrations, and supply chain improvements.
Currently in the planning and design phase, the programme will run for approximately 18–24 months. We are seeking a delivery-focused IT Project Manager to take ownership of the IT workstream and drive execution through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end IT project delivery for the EPOS transformation workstream
- Define and manage delivery plans, roadmap, sequencing, and dependencies
- Track and control budgets, costs, and financial governance
- Coordinate delivery across multiple IT domains, including:
- EPOS replacement
- Stock management / inventory systems
- Integration with new and existing core platforms
- Work closely with architecture and engineering teams (exposure to HLD, not hands-on design)
- Manage third-party vendors and internal stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with programme milestones and business objectives
- Operate effectively within a large-scale, enterprise IT environment
Key Requirements
- Proven track record delivering large-scale (£20m+) IT programmes
- Strong background as a core IT Project Manager (delivery-focused, not change/comms-led)
- Experience in retail systems and/or supply chain environments
- Excellent planning, governance, and cost control capability
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, vendors, and complex dependencies
- Comfortable working onsite and embedded within delivery teams
Nice to Have
- EPOS / POS transformation experience
- Experience working within large retail organisations
- Exposure to end-to-end retail operations or supply chain systems
Not in Scope
- Change communications
- Training delivery
- Organisational change management
Why Join
- Business-critical transformation with high visibility
- Long-term programme with strong extension potential
- Opportunity to lead a core IT workstream within a £20m+ initiative
- Stable, structured delivery environment
