Lead Software Engineer
TalentCo are delighted to be partnering with an established PE-backed tech company looking to hire a high-calibre Lead Software Engineer into their UK business, as they build a new conversational AI platform from the ground up.
This hire can be based predominantly from home anywhere in the UK, with occasional trips to meet the team, but with plenty of flexibility to suit individual circumstances.
The client are developing a low-code, multi-tenant platform that enables large enterprises to design, build and deploy AI agents capable of handling both single-step LLM tasks and complex multi-step agentic workflows.
As Lead Software Engineer you will:
- Set the software engineering standards for this newly formed team of 4.
- Operate roughly as follows: 70% hands-on software development, 30% tech lead responsibilities.
- Develop scalable backend services for multi-tenant execution of AI agents.
- Deploy LLM-based applications and agentic workflows at scale.
We want to hear from you if:
- You have 5+ years of hands-on experience building production applications, with at least 2 years as a Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead or Software Engineering Lead
- You're an expert when it comes to backend development using Python, building systems at scale
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable architectures.
- Bonus points if you have high-volume, low-latency message processing and Kubernetes experience
- You do NOT need previous AI experience, but you definitely need a keen desire to build AI products.
