They are seeking a talented and driven Qualified Management Accountant to join the finance team in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to guide strategic decision-making within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a rapidly growing software platform scaleup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret financial data, providing insights into business performance and trends.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and actionable financial plans.
- Perform variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor and review key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the company's financial health and operational efficiency.
- Prepare financial reports for senior management, highlighting key findings and presenting recommendations.
- Assist in the development and improvement of financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide financial support for business initiatives, including pricing strategies, cost analysis, and investment decisions.
- Participate in ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong academic background.
- Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role, preferably within a technology, software, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Previous experience in a startup or scaleup environment is a plus.
