Payroll Assistant
Talentedge are actively recruiting for a Payroll Assistant for a leading Media Agency on a 9 month temporary basis paying up to £400 per day, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Processing UK SAP payroll ensuring that employees receive accurate remuneration on the published pay dates, thereby ensuring that the Company meets its contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with Payroll Specialist to ensure all SAP Payroll inputs are loaded prior to payroll processing.
- To ensure that Payroll activity is properly posted into SAP GL and post payroll activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Escalate all SAP based queries/issues to SAP partner and raise Management Requests and complete required testing.
- Review and approve completeness and accuracy of the payroll calculation outputs by payroll vendor.
- Finalise and produce BACS on all UK Monthly payrolls
- Ensure that the Company meets all statutory, payroll related obligations for the legal entities supported.
- Approve monthly, quarterly, annual and other periodicity reports to the management of the Company, local authorities and other recipients.
- To resolve all assigned payroll related queries from employees and legal entity stakeholders in a professional and timely manner or escalate where appropriate.
- To perform manual calculations for part-month and back-dated payments where necessary.
- To correctly calculate and pay statutory payments for SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP in line with HMRC regulations and Company policy.
- To calculate and check manual payments where appropriate ensuring that the payment is correctly accounted for.
- To analyse the variance report providing a reason for all variances above the set material limit.
- Ensure Payroll procedures are kept up to date.
- Support and where applicable take the lead testing of SAP Payroll upgrades and ongoing SAP testing requirements.
- Take lead on various internal and external audit requests.
- Share best practices/processes/systems across countries and practice continuous improvements
- To actively participate in all team events such as meetings and training exercises leading by example.
- Ensure Payroll procedures are kept up to date and identify efficiencies and identify continuous improvements.
- To assist and support with wider payroll audits and general projects as required.
Skill requirements
- SAP Payroll and SAP finance experience - preferred but not essential.
- Payroll journal understanding and understanding how it feeds into financials – essential.
- Knowledge of Payroll legislation – essential.
- Previous experiences of internal/external audits – preferred but not essential.
- Working in an in-house Payroll environment – essential.
- General understanding of Workday – optional.
