About The Role Help accelerate the growth of Talos in EMEA and beyond as our Senior Counsel, EMEA, based in London. You will be a key member of Talos’ global Legal team, partnering closely with our NY-based global general counsel on cutting edge legal issues for a new class of assets. In this role, you will be a legal generalist tackling everything from negotiating commercial agreements to developing legal strategy for new products in an emerging industry. You will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing clear, risk-weighted guidance on complex issues across multiple jurisdictions. This is a Senior Counsel-level role designed for a UK-qualified lawyer who enjoys hands-on work, ownership and building scalable processes in a fast-growing, global digital asset company. . Responsibilities and Duties
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, includingSaaS/platform agreements, data and technology licenses, trading agreements and key vendor and partnership contracts
- Partner with Sales and Business Development to structure commercially pragmatic, scalable deals that align with Talos’ risk appetite
- Provide risk-weighted advice on UK and EU financial-services and digital-asset regulation relevant to Talos’ business
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments in the UK and EMEA (including evolving digital-asset frameworks) and translate them into actionable guidance for the business
- Manage and coordinate outside counsel in EMEA as needed, ensuring advice is high-quality, practical and cost-effective
- Create, implement and continuously improve effective and efficient legal processes, playbooks and templates suitable for a rapidly growing fintech company focused on digital assets
- Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership on important legal issues facing the company in EMEA and across the globe, contributing to strategic decision-making
- Must be licensed to practice law in the United Kingdom with at least five years PQE Experience and degree from strong institution
- Experience at a top international law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS and other technology transaction agreements
- Detail-oriented and resourceful, with excellent follow-through skills, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to proactively, efficiently, and accurately assess legal business risks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- An energetic, creative, and autonomous self-starter
- Prior experience working in capital markets, trading, fintech, digital assets, or high-growth tech companies a strong plus
- Expertise in FCA regulations, MiCA or MiFID a strong plus
- The role is based in London in a hybrid-friendly work environment, with flexibility to collaborate across time zones and locations
