We're supporting a profitable UK-based software business that forms part of a wider international group. The organisation has grown steadily over a number of years and continues to expand through a mix of organic development and group investment. The business operates in a specialist software niche and works with long-standing clients in a regulated sector.
The working environment is collaborative and hands-on, with an emphasis on reliability, ownership and getting the basics right.
The Role
This is a broad finance role supporting the senior finance lead and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate reporting, meeting deadlines, and maintaining effective financial processes across the business. The role would suit someone dependable, detail-focused and comfortable taking responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of monthly and periodic financial reporting
- Preparation of management accounts, including journals and balance sheet reviews
- Contribution to group-level reporting requirements
- Oversight of routine tax matters and statutory submissions
- Managing payables and receivables processes
- Ensuring appropriate checks, approvals and reconciliations are in place
- Day-to-day management of a small finance team
- Supporting additional finance tasks as required
Background & Experience
- Accounting qualification preferred (or strong practical experience in a similar role)
- Comfortable working with established finance processes and improving them where needed
- Good Excel capability for reporting and analysis
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to manage deadlines without close supervision
