Are you looking to grow your career in cloud infrastructure and DevOps We're seeking a Junior Platform Engineer with hands-on AWS experience to join a forward-thinking technology team that builds and supports a large-scale B2B / trade eCommerce platform, powering numerous brands and distributors across the UK.

You'll be joining a collaborative environment where innovation, efficiency, and scalability are at the heart of everything they do. The role offers the chance to work across release planning, architectural decision-making, cost optimisation, documentation, and mentoring within an established and supportive team.

What you'll be doing

Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure to ensure cost efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Recommend and implement improvements to systems and processes.
Collaborate closely with software development teams.
Write and maintain detailed documentation on architecture and operational procedures.
Monitor systems to proactively detect and resolve issues.
Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers to plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades.
Liaise with third-party hosting providers for migrations and issue resolution.
Migrate data and services from external providers into AWS environments.
Apply and maintain AWS security best practices.
Conduct Well-Architected Framework reviews and propose improvements.
Experiment with new AWS services to identify opportunities for enhancement.

About you

Fluent in written and spoken English.
A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS.
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
Expertise in managing and implementing AWS environments and pipelines (Azure experience beneficial).
Hands-on experience with Python, Bash, DynamoDB, MariaDB, and MySQL (LAMP Stack).
Solid understanding of automation principles, immutable infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of serverless and event-driven architecture.
Experience documenting and optimising infrastructure deployments.
