Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) Consultant to join a fast-growing SAP practice within a leading consulting and systems integration environment. The role involves supporting major global organisations as they modernise and optimise their trade compliance and customs operations using SAP S/4HANA and GTS.
Due to the nature of the clients supported, candidates must be eligible for SC-level security clearance. Only British Nationals who have lived continuously in the UK for the past five years can be considered. Dual nationals cannot be accepted at this time.
About the Role
As a Senior SAP GTS Consultant, you will take ownership of the design and delivery of GTS solutions across full project lifecycles. This includes leading client workshops, managing workstreams, providing expert guidance on international trade regulations, and mentoring junior consultants. You will also contribute to pre-sales efforts such as supporting RFP responses, shaping solution proposals, and presenting SAP GTS capabilities to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP GTS workstreams across design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare.
- Own the functional design for Compliance Management, Customs Management, Risk Management, and Trade Preference.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, perform fit-gap analysis, and align solutions to global trade best practices.
- Configure SAP GTS and integrate with S/4HANA Logistics, MM, SD, TM, and external broker/customs systems.
- Support pre-sales activities: scoping, effort estimation, solution presentations, and proposal development.
- Ensure alignment with international trade regulations including ITAR, EAR, EU dual-use, HMRC, CBP, CBSA, AES, ATLAS, and others.
- Produce functional specifications for WRICEF objects and oversee SIT and UAT testing cycles.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of accelerators, templates, and practice assets.
Required Experience
- Strong SAP functional background with significant hands-on experience in SAP GTS.
- Led at least two end-to-end SAP GTS implementations as a workstream or functional lead.
- Deep understanding of global trade compliance and customs processes across multiple regions.
- Practical configuration experience in SAP GTS 11.0, 2020 or later, integrated with S/4HANA.
- Experience in multi-country rollouts, ideally in Aerospace & Defence, Manufacturing, or Life Sciences.
- Demonstrated experience working within consulting/SI delivery models, including onshore/offshore teams.
- Exposure to pre-sales activities such as solution shaping, RFP work, and client demos.
Tools, Methods & Certifications
- Expertise in SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS configuration.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager/ChaRM, Jira or ALM tools.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Tricentis qTest/Tosca or similar.
- SAP GTS certification (Application Professional) preferred.
- Understanding of AEO, ITAR/EAR, and customs authority integrations is desirable.
