The Role

As a ServiceNow Senior Architect (ITxM and Non‐ITxM), you will own the end‐to‐end technical architecture of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring stability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with best practices. You will define and govern architectural standards, support transformation initiatives, and ensure that both current and future platform states remain scalable, secure, and aligned to long‐term consolidation goals.

Key responsibilities:

• Owning the overall ServiceNow technical architecture across ITSM, CSM, ITOM, ITAM, SecOps, HRSD, NowAssist, and related domains.
• Defining and governing dual‐instance architecture, ensuring alignment with long‐term consolidation strategies.
• Acting as the architectural authority for upgrades and major releases, ensuring solutions remain upgrade‐safe and compliant.
• Enforcing out‐of‐the‐box‐first principles and approving controlled deviations where required.
• Designing and maintaining architecture for regulatory‐critical domains, including CMDB, service mapping, and data lineage.
• Defining CMDB target architecture, including data quality, reconciliation rules, Service Graph connectors, MID Server strategy, and health metrics.
• Leading remediation of non‐aligned CMDB implementations and optimising discovery capabilities.
• Architecting integrations with third‐party systems, ensuring secure, standardised authentication, monitoring, and error handling.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements including FCA expectations, GDPR, and enterprise security standards.
• Designing solutions supporting operational resilience, business continuity, and governance frameworks.
• Supporting consolidation of legacy platforms into strategic ServiceNow instances.
• Reducing technical debt and improving platform efficiency while supporting ongoing transformation initiatives.
• Providing architectural guidance and thought leadership to stakeholders across business, IT, and delivery teams.
• Producing and maintaining architecture documentation, design standards, and audit‐ready artefacts.

Key Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Strong expertise across ServiceNow modules including ITSM, CSM, ITOM, ITAM, SecOps, HRSD, and related capabilities.
• Extensive experience as a ServiceNow Architect or Senior Technical Lead.
• Proven experience leading end‐to‐end ServiceNow implementations across ITxM and Non‐ITxM domains.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes and their application within enterprise environments.
• Experience in ServiceNow custom application design, integrations, orchestration, and multi‐instance environments.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, and future‐ready architecture aligned with platform best practices.
• Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions and functional designs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business, IT, and senior leadership levels.
• ServiceNow System Administrator certification with additional certifications across core modules preferred.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

• Certified Technical Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
• Experience evaluating platform stability, performance, and optimisation opportunities.
• Knowledge of modern AI‐driven capabilities within ServiceNow such as automation and intelligent assistance.
• Experience in defining deployment strategies, infrastructure models, and operational best practices.
