The Role:

The Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing network infrastructures that support business objectives. This role involves strategic planning, architecture development, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and security best practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to the internal network core teams and the supplier in governing the solution architecture and ensuring solution design meets the business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the definition of technical requirement specifications.
  • Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to the functional requirements defined
  • Support the Program and Project Manager in project planning, risk and issue management and the delivery of projects
  • Support the technical domain architect and Technical Design Authority to build solution design and implementation plan.
  • Work with support vendors, partners and customers to manage the performance and capacity of the existing network Data Centre, LAN / WAN and Cloud services
  • Build and manage excellent working relationships with customers, partners and support vendors to meet our current and future needs.
  • Work with the supplier, Partner & internal teams to deliver Projects on both the on-perm, Cloud network and the existing customer data network
  • Work with internal multi domain teams (Windows, Storage and Application) to provide guidance on network and support in devoting infrastructure solution designs
  • Implementation, integration, configuration, development and support of all stages of SD-WAN process
  • Planning, managing, designing of Cloud Network Systems – AWS & Azure
  • Work with operation teams to progress fault investigations and maintain the existing on-prem and Cloud Network
  • Ability to work with 3rd party vendors, OEMs and Product suppliers
  • Team Lead skills and Project Management Skills
  • Knowledge on Contracts and SLAs

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • In depth understanding and demonstrable experience in Core Network Architectures along with Enterprise Data Networks, Data Centre and LAN / WAN
  • In depth technical knowledge of Network Technologies including, but not limited to: WAN/LAN, Firewalls, Data Centre, VPN, VRF, BGP, OSPF, Load balancers, DNS and Cloud AWS / Azure.
  • Good product knowledge of Cisco routers and switches, Checkpoint, FortiGate, ASA, F5 LTM/GTM, DDI, Aruba switches and central management
  • Strong Analytical Skills.
  • Hands on, day to day understanding and technical subject matter experience in network area.
  • Demonstrates specialist knowledge required for the role including relevant standards, regulations, frameworks, technologies and process. Will be able to demonstrate implementing and making recommendations for improvements that are in line with strategies.
  • Experience of working with and influencing within teams. Will be able to demonstrate adding value and contributing to team successes and outcomes
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, work and collaborate within teams. Can demonstrate flexibility and agility to move between role types within teams. Understands relationships within those teams and their key stakeholders
