The Role

As an SAP UK Payroll & HCM Consultant, you will configure, maintain and support SAP ERP HCM modules (PA, OM, Time, Payroll) and UK Payroll components to enable efficient and compliant HR operations. You will troubleshoot payroll issues, support monthly and year‐end activities, ensure legal compliance, collaborate with cross‐functional teams and contribute to enhancements and continuous improvement of HR and payroll processes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Configure wage types, payroll schemas, PCRs and payroll rules.
  • Provide hands‐on support and configuration for SAP UK Payroll and SAP HCM modules (PA, OM, Time, Payroll).
  • Support and troubleshoot payroll issues, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements, including Year‐End activities, HMRC submissions and RTI.
  • Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to support business‐as‐usual operations during payroll cycles.
  • Configure SAP HCM components and support enhancements based on business requirements.
  • Manage integrations with third‐party and downstream systems.
  • Analyse SAP KBAs for UK legal changes and support HRSP upgrades.
  • Manage incident resolution, priority handling and change requests.
  • Maintain documentation, configuration updates and audit‐ready records.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong understanding of SAP Payroll Schemas and PCRs.
  • Experience with wage type configuration and valuation methods.
  • Configuration experience in payroll areas, periods and control records.
  • Experience with processing, evaluation and cumulation classes.
  • Understanding of integration with Finance (FI/CO).
  • Hands‐on experience with pre‐payroll validation and post‐payroll checks.
  • Knowledge of UK Year‐End activities, HMRC submissions and RTI processes.
  • Experience configuring standard and custom payroll reports (e.g., Ad Hoc Query).
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience with daily payroll job monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of SAP HCM UK‐specific payroll configuration.
  • Experience executing functional testing (UT, SIT, UAT) for payroll modules.
  • Experience working in a multi‐vendor environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‐management skills.
