The Role As a Software Engineer , you will be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving products that deliver the next era of software products. This would include the design and development of technologies e.g. supporting Smart Grid initiative, which will redefine how the world generates, consumes, and understands its consumption of power.
Key responsibilities:
Work in an Agile software development team with 4-8 peers.
Produce quality software which is maximize first time yield.
Work in a holistic way to ensure the team delivers a quality software product.
Expand domain knowledge and become an expert in your focus area.
Contribute to increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.
Support process improvements driving quality and productivity.
Express complex engineering concepts in code.
Drive world-class quality in the products you develop.
Communicate effectively both within immediate team and cross team or function.
Energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people; breed positive morale, loyalty and commitment.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Demonstrable skills in C, C++ or C# programming language.
Proven experience in developing software in an agile or iterative environment.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
Ability to demonstrate all or some of the following technical skills: C, C++, C# programming language; Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); Microsoft .Net; XML Services; Client/Server and Distributed System Design; Perl; PL/SQL; Power Systems Applications.
A background in developing large-scale mission critical client server applications in the utilities or telecommunications arena.
Experience of multiple development methodologies.
High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills.
Effective team building and problem-solving abilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with remote locations.
