The Role

As a Strategic Sales Specialist – Cloud (Financial Services), you will strengthen TCS’s market position as a strategic growth and transformation partner for Cloud and Hybrid Cloud solutions. This role involves consultative sales, pre-sales, solutioning, and supporting end-to-end deal cycles across TCS Cloud BU’s offerings, targeting new and existing clients within the Financial Services sector. You will be part of TCS Cloud BU’s fast-growing Sales & Solutions team, driving rigor in the sales process and contributing significantly to deal wins across the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen market position and establish TCS as a strategic partner for Hybrid Cloud and infrastructure services through thought leadership and consultative engagement.
  • Engage closely with client stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into cloud-based solution approaches.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to acquire new clients and expand relationships with existing Financial Services portfolios.
  • Shape and support strategic deal cycles including RFI/RFP responses, bid defence, and proposal creation.
  • Work with global cross-functional teams — architects, consultants, delivery, and product owners — to craft compelling solution propositions.
  • Articulate cloud architecture options, risks, and business value in both technical and businessfriendly language.
  • Ensure solution alignment with enterprise architecture standards, delivery feasibility, and financial targets.
  • Review technology trends and contribute to the evolution of TCS’s hybrid cloud offerings.
  • Support solution campaigns, cloud advisory engagements, and cloud strategy and roadmap definition for clients.
  • Work with hyperscaler partners (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and support joint proposals and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to TCS Cloud BU initiatives including marketing, budget planning, and resourcing activities.

Your Profile

Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Highly technical and analytical, with extensive experience in Cloud, Infrastructure Services, and IT Outsourcing.
  • Strong background in business development or partner management within a leading hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Ability to position cloud solutions, shape large deals, and engage with CIO/CXO-level stakeholders confidently.
  • Deep understanding of Hybrid Cloud, Infrastructure Outsourcing models, SLAs, pricing constructs, delivery models, and cloud transformation journeys.
  • Experience working within matrixed organisations and managing onsite-offshore delivery ecosystems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to translate customer challenges into winning solutions and articulate business value effectively.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience in working with web services technologies and software development environments.
  • Strong consulting mindset with ability to influence and guide technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience handling RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, pricing models, SLAs, penalties, and service coverage constructs.
  • Familiarity with intermediary advisory processes such as ISG, BCG, and Gartner.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical strengths, and results-driven attitude.
  • Enthusiasm for thought leadership and innovation.
