Application Architect - Contract

Location: London (2–3 days per week on-site)

Contract: 6 month

Rate: £650 - £700 per day

A leading international professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Applications Architect to support the selection, design, and global rollout of enterprise-grade applications across a complex, distributed environment.

This role requires strong architectural capability across Microsoft 365, Azure, SaaS/COTS platforms, and enterprise integrations. You’ll work embedded within the Strategy & Architecture function, supporting governance, design assurance, and technical leadership across multiple ongoing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical lead for new applications and cloud-hosted SaaS projects
• Own architectural design, governance, and technical decision-making
• Produce detailed architecture artefacts including HLDs, LLDs, patterns, and standards
• Support the global rollout and adoption of enterprise applications
• Evaluate vendor solutions, contribute to RFI/RFP processes, and advise on product selection
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements
• Work with cross-functional teams to align technology with strategic roadmaps
• Provide expertise on integrations between SaaS/COTS applications and existing systems
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practice

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience architecting Microsoft 365 solutions (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Teams)
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Proven background designing and integrating COTS/SaaS applications
• Experience producing enterprise-grade architecture documentation
• Familiarity with global, multi‐region user environments
• Strong stakeholder and vendor engagement skills
• Experience in professional services, financial services or similar regulated industries

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of enterprise applications such as iManage, Intapp, Litera, Aderant, or similar
• TOGAF certification or equivalent EA frameworks
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
