A leading technology-driven organisation is seeking a Hosting Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on role focused on deploying and operating Kubernetes environments, driving automation, and ensuring operational excellence across a complex hosting estate.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a DevOps-focused engineer with strong Kubernetes and infrastructure experience to take ownership of key systems and contribute to the evolution of a modern, automated hosting platform.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes environments, with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Manage and automate infrastructure components including Cisco UCS, virtualisation platforms, storage, backups, and Linux systems using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitHub.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure delivery with DevOps best practices.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing support for critical infrastructure services.
  • Define and implement infrastructure administration standards and procedures.
  • Champion Infrastructure as Code and continuous improvement across the hosting estate.
  • Support and guide third-party providers and internal stakeholders to successful outcomes.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Kubernetes and automation.
  • Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Git, and GitHub.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Cisco UCS and MDS infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies including fibre channel, NFS, and object storage.
  • Experience with PureStorage and CommVault is highly desirable.
  • Solid background in Red Hat Linux (RHEL 7, 8, 9) administration.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, switching, TCP/IP).
  • Experience working in hybrid environments, ideally with exposure to Azure.
  • Familiarity with Intel Windows Server (2019/2022) and Microsoft technologies.
  • Disaster recovery planning and execution experience.
  • Exposure to ITIL frameworks and project delivery methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
