We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our Analytics team at Taurus Healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to use your analytical skills and practice experience to support Taurus Clinical Services, GP Practices, Primary Care Networks and other healthcare services across Herefordshire and beyond, helping to shape decisions that directly improve patient care and outcomes.

Working with operational teams, you'll use your experience to build EMIS templates, protocols and searches, analyse complex healthcare data, develop reporting solutions, and create actionable insights that support service improvement and performance. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, continuous learning, and he intelligent use of data to drive better healthcare.

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating insights clearly, values the benefits of good quality data capture within EMIS and other clinical systems, and making a tangible difference through data

Main duties of the job

  • Transform healthcare data into meaningful insights that support better patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Design and develop EMIS templates, protocols, searches and reports to improve data quality and capture.
  • Produce dashboards, analyses and performance reports for clinical services, GP Practices and Primary Care Networks.
  • Work closely with clinicians, managers and stakeholders to understand information needs and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Provide a key link between Clinical Services and the wider BI team, ensuring that processes are adhered to and appropriate changes are embedded.
  • Support contractual and performance reporting requirements, helping practices and networks achieve key objectives.
  • Identify trends, opportunities and risks within data, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of a data-driven culture across primary care by sharing expertise, supporting colleagues and driving continuous improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships across healthcare organisations and collaborate on projects that improve services for local communities.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to providing intelligence and insights to Taurus Clinical Services, GP Practices and Primary Care Networks.

The Data Analyst will work across both Taurus Clinical Services and Primary Care Analytics customers to provide intelligence and insights to provide better patient care. We aim to offer and deliver excellent, safe, co-ordinated, high quality patient analysis. Continuously learning, evolving and implementing new models of care, to create inclusion and reduce inequalities and improve outcomes.

This is an exciting role and an opportunity to make a unique and measurable impact on patient care, also enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of Integrated services. The successful candidate will be responsible for building high trust relationships with Local EMIS Teams, Practice based Clinicians and Community based Clinicians as well as Public Health England. The postholder will be responsible for EMIS template and protocol development, EMIS reporting, dashboard refresh and refinement, and analysis to support teams to improve Patient Care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all EMIS templates in services are set up with the most up-to-date clinical codes to ensure that activity is successfully captured
  • Establishing new templates and protocols for clinical services in support of service developments
  • Managing, analysing, interpreting, presenting and reporting on EMIS data
  • Collaborating with the Head of Analytics in agreeing analytics workstreams
  • Supporting the work of Primary Care Analytics, in providing reporting, analysis, and interpretation against DES, LES and prevalence specifications to ensuring successful delivery for PCN Contracts
  • Increasing usage of EMIS through enhancing and making the systems more efficient across all services/contracts
  • Developing consent requests for PCN data for Practices or asked for by other organisations
  • Processing and recording data information in accordance with NHSE, Federation, Trust, PCN and Practice Protocols
  • Fulfilling reporting requirements within the remit of both the Business Intelligence and Primary Care Analytics teams objectives
  • Consulting Key Stakeholders in the remit of data quality and offering support and advice where needed
  • Provide necessary analytics and other business information to support securing funding for new initiatives as well as mapping new projects to confirm viability.
  • Using knowledge, supports the development of data-driven decision making across PCNs, informing stakeholders of risks, benefits and consequences.
  • Coach, train and develop colleagues within own scope of work.
