Role Summary
- Execute automotive infotainment validation across onsite UK customer environments, vehicle, rig,
- bench, HIL and offshore-supported test environments. Independently analyse requirements,
- prepare and execute test cases, investigate failures, collect diagnostic evidence and support
- defect closure. Work closely with system, software, HMI, audio and integration teams to deliver
- reliable feature and regression validation for production-intent software releases. Act as an onsite
- engineering interface for assigned validation activities, supporting customer discussions,
- clarification of priorities, issue reproduction and structured handover to offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse requirements and create traceable test cases for HMI, Audio, Navigation, Connectivity,
- Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Cameras, Diagnostics and Vehicle Settings.
- Execute smoke, sanity, feature, integration and regression testing on assigned infotainment
- functions.
- Perform validation on onsite UK customer rigs, benches, HIL, vehicles and approved offshore
- supported setups following approved test procedures and configuration baselines.
- Prepare test data, configure ECUs and test environments, execute software flashing or feature
- configuration as required, and maintain test evidence.
- Monitor CAN, CAN FD, LIN and Ethernet communication; execute UDS/DoIP diagnostics and
- analyse ECU responses.
- Capture and correlate CANoe/CANalyzer traces, Wireshark captures, application logs and
- diagnostic data to support issue investigation.
- Raise high-quality defects with reproducible steps, expected and actual behaviour,
- build/configuration details, logs, frequency and impact.
- Support defect triage, failure reproduction, fix verification and focused regression until closure.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and update execution status, evidence and defects in
- JIRA and Jama/DOORS or equivalent tools.
- Contribute to test automation, reusable scripts, test utilities and regression-efficiency
- improvements under technical guidance.
- Participate in daily reviews, technical discussions, customer-facing onsite updates and release
- readiness reporting; escalate blockers and quality risks promptly.
- Support junior team members through peer reviews and knowledge sharing as experience
- permits.
- Maintain investigation records, test evidence and ticket status updates throughout execution.
- Ensure defects, test results and evidence can be clearly understood by reviewers and downstream
- engineers.
- Support onsite UK validation activities including customer access readiness, vehicle or rig
- availability, setup verification, logging, test execution, evidence generation and coordination with
- offshore teams.
- Report blockers immediately when access, tooling, software, requirements, test conditions or
- onsite customer/vehicle availability prevent progress.
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on automotive infotainment system validation and understanding of end-to-end feature
- behaviour.
- Working knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS and DoIP.
- Hands-on use of Vector CANoe and/or CANalyzer; familiarity with CANape, Wireshark or Vehicle
- Spy is advantageous.
- Experience with ECU communication analysis, diagnostics, log analysis, feature configuration and
- software integration validation.
- Experience with JIRA and a requirement/test-management tool such as Jama or DOORS; working
- knowledge of Confluence.
- Basic understanding of XML/ARXML and automotive software or network configuration data.
- Ability to create clear test cases, execute negative and boundary scenarios, and produce objective test evidence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant automotive embedded-system testing experience, including meaningful exposure to infotainment validation.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with automotive networks, diagnostics and at least one primary validation tool.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for defect reporting, technical reviews, stakeholder updates and customer-facing onsite communication in the UK.
