Our client is a leading commercial security systems organisation with a strong UK and global presence. They're looking for an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to lead their fire and security operations team based in Central London on a hybrid basis. Position Overview

You'll take the helm of engineering operations, overseeing project installations, service and maintenance delivery across a diverse portfolio. Your role is pivotal in ensuring projects complete on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, health and safety. You'll lead and develop engineering teams, foster collaboration across internal departments, and build strong client relationships that drive business success. This position offers you the chance to shape operational excellence and influence how the organisation delivers integrated security solutions to its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop engineering teams, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Oversee project installations, service and maintenance operations, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion across all contracts
  • Monitor project schedules, quality standards and adherence to health and safety regulations including RAMS, CDM and site HSE audits
  • Conduct safety audits and drive continuous improvement across all operational areas
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support sales teams to secure contract renewals and new business opportunities
  • Ensure cost-effective project and service delivery, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives
  • Support contract management and ensure accurate documentation including testing, commissioning, training and as-built records
  • Maintain NSI, Safe Contractor and other accreditation standards through regular system audits and compliance checks
  • Provide technical support to teams working with integrated security systems and IP-based technology platforms

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in security systems
  • Strong project management skills with understanding of NEC and JCT contracts
  • Technical expertise in integrated security systems, ideally IP-based systems
  • Experience managing service and maintenance teams
  • Engineering background to support the team with questions and advice where required
  • IOSH Managing Safely, SSSTS or SMSTS certification
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in fitout project work and principal contractor environments
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations
  • ISO9001 and NSI standards experience
  • ECS certification or willingness to obtain
