AWS Cloud/Engineer - Security Group, VMWare, Linux - Inside IR35
Cloud/Hosting Engineers are required by this enterprise client, undergoing significant cloud and infrastructure modernisation, to join their high-performing platform team. These roles sit at the heart of the organisation's hosting estate, supporting both on-prem VMware environments and AWS cloud services.
You'll be working within a mature engineering function, contributing to BAU operations, platform improvements, and cloud-focused transformation initiatives.
- Administer and optimise AWS services, with a focus on EC2, EBS, and Security Groups
- Provide operational support for Windows Server platforms, including patching, performance tuning, and incident resolution
- Contribute to hosting platform improvements, automation, and standardisation
- Collaborate with cloud, network, and security teams to ensure stable and secure hosting services
You must be able to demonstrate experience across -
- Solid understanding of AWS, particularly EC2, EBS, IAM fundamentals, and Security Groups
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware, vSphere administration in enterprise environments
- Strong Linux administration
- Proven background in Windows Server administration
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hosting issues across hybrid platforms
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
