Lead Technical Business Analyst

  • 2x per week in the London or Portsmouth office

Our client, a IT consultancy is looking for an Lead Technical Business Analyst to join the team on a permanent basis lead complex discovery and delivery for AI-enabled automations.

Responsibilities

  • Discovery & Stakeholder Leadership: Design and run workshops; align objectives, scope, success measures, and constraints
  • Requirements & Backlog Ownership: Define features; produce user stories and acceptance criteria; maintain end-to-end traceability across solution, testing, and releases
  • Process Analysis & Target-State Design: Create as-is and to-be BPMN models
  • Solution Design Collaboration: Partner with architects and engineers on high-level and interface designs; capture and validate non-functional requirements
  • Data Analysis & Feasibility: Profile and assess data sources using SQL/Python; evaluate data quality and availability; define data contracts and measurable success criteria.
  • Prototyping & Validation: Lead PoCs and MVPs using low-code and GenAI tools; design experiments and evaluation frameworks; iterate solutions based on feedback through to acceptance.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with information security, GDPR/data-protection, model-governance, and responsible-AI standards for both delivered solutions and generated artefacts.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8+ years’ experience in business analysis or consulting, including 3+ years delivering AI, data, or automation initiatives.
  • Advanced capability in BPMN modelling, user-story mapping, and backlog management (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
  • Proven hands-on use of AI-assisted generation tools (e.g. MCP, GitHub Copilot), including prompt and template engineering and review practices.
  • Practical knowledge of LLM platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic) and familiarity with orchestration and event-driven architectures.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, and cloud fundamentals (Azure, AWS, GCP).
