TechHeads is currently seeking an experienced Insurance Platform Operations Manager to lead a major platform transformation and then take ownership of ongoing BDX (bordereaux) processing operations.
This role has two phases:
Phase 1 – Platform Transformation:
Lead the migration of remaining lines of business onto a new Insurance Platform (IP), establish robust BAU processes, and manage the transition from legacy systems.
Phase 2 – Operational Leadership (BAU):
Own, optimise and continuously enhance the BDX processing function — ensuring data accuracy, operational efficiency, strong controls, and maximum return on technology investment.
This is a high-visibility role combining project leadership, operational management, data governance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Platform Migration & Transition
- Lead migration of business lines onto the new IP platform
- Establish sustainable BAU processes post-implementation
- Manage project and operational teams through system transition
- Ensure appropriate resourcing across systems and people
BDX Processing & Data Governance
- Oversee mapping and loading of incoming bordereaux into the IP platform
- Ensure alignment with Master Data standards
- Liaise with third-party BDX providers to resolve mapping and format issues
- Own and enhance BDX processing processes and controls (including SOX)
- Act as escalation point for overdue or problematic bordereaux
- Ensure data validation, quality and accuracy standards are maintained
- Monitor referral breaches and ensure underwriting/claims validation
- Maintain accurate trackers and produce MI reporting
Operational Leadership & Optimisation
- Manage and develop team performance, balancing workload and capability
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, automation, AI tools)
- Maximise use of platform tools (e.g. Intrali, AutoRec, data warehouse tools)
- Ensure compliance with FCA, PRA, CBI and internal risk frameworks
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure reporting and deadline adherence
- Safeguard data security and operational integrity
Requirements
Experience
- Strong experience in insurance operations within delegated authority environments
- Proven experience managing BDX/bordereaux processing functions
- Experience leading teams in matrix organisations
- Platform migration or large-scale operational transformation experience
- Strong understanding of data governance, controls and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working with Intrali or similar insurance platform/ETL tools
