We are recruiting for an experienced Digital Workplace Architect to join a large UK organisation, helping shape and deliver the future of its Microsoft-based Digital Workplace environment.
This is a senior technical architecture role focused on Microsoft 365, Azure and End User Computing. You will translate complex requirements into secure, resilient and scalable solutions, taking ownership of technical designs and providing architectural guidance throughout delivery and transition into service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of complex Digital Workplace and Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Produce HLDs/LLDs, architecture documentation, technical standards and implementation strategies.
- Provide expert guidance across M365, Azure, identity and End User Computing.
- Contribute to Digital Workplace strategy, roadmaps and emerging technology evaluation.
- Ensure solutions meet security, governance and architectural standards.
- Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, project and service teams.
- Provide architectural oversight through implementation and transition into support.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the Digital Workplace function.
What We're Looking For
This is an architecture-level position rather than a pure M365 administration/support role. You should have strong experience designing Microsoft-based Digital Workplace solutions within large or complex environments.
We are looking for experience across several of the following:
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 architecture
- Azure and Entra ID / IAM
- End User Computing / Modern Workplace
- M365 security, compliance, governance and Purview
- SharePoint Online
- Power Platform – Power Apps / Power Automate
- Windows modern management
- PowerShell and automation
- Enterprise/Solution Architecture and HLD/LLD production
- ITSM and service transition
The underlying requirement calls for expert-level M365, Azure, IAM and Digital Workplace experience alongside solution design and PowerShell capabilities.
Experience within public sector, regulated, critical infrastructure or 24/7 operational environments would be advantageous. Relevant Microsoft certifications and knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF would also be beneficial.
Location & Working Arrangement
You will be based from one of the organisation's hubs: London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds, depending on your location. A blended approach to home and office working is available, with some UK travel and regular onsite working required.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo Security Check (SC) vetting.
Package: £63,484 basic + skills supplement of up to £10,347, with an additional £4,775 allowance for London-based candidates.
