TechNET IT has partnered with a leading technology infrastructure provider to support their search for a strategic and experienced Business Development Director – Data Centre. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing the organisation’s global data centre strategy while driving expansion into new sectors and leveraging AI-driven innovations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Centre Strategy Development: Lead and execute the company’s global data centre strategy, ensuring a clearly defined go-to-market plan that aligns with business growth objectives.
- Infrastructure & COLO Oversight: Oversee infrastructure and colocation strategies, ensuring optimisation, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Market Expansion & Growth: Identify new market opportunities, including COLO targets, emerging sectors, and hyperscale prospects, driving revenue growth and market share.
- Industry Leadership & Engagement: Represent the company as a subject matter expert at trade shows, industry events, and thought leadership panels, while building strong relationships with key partners, consultants, and contractors.
- AI & Technology Integration: Leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to enhance the company’s infrastructure solutions and business operations.
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Drive new and cross-sales business opportunities across existing accounts and new clients, ensuring sustainable revenue streams for data centre projects and managed services.
- Global Team Collaboration: Lead a dedicated and virtual team focused on data centre clients across multiple regions, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Market Research & Insights: Gather and share key market insights to inform business strategy, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the data centre or ICT infrastructure industry.
- Strong technical understanding of structured cabling, data centre operations, and emerging digital infrastructure trends.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business development strategies that drive market expansion.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Financial acumen and strategic decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
