DevOps Orchestration Specialist – Networks

6 Month Contract

Hybrid-Working – Cheshire

£500-£550 per day Outside IR35

We’re supporting a major transformation programme and are looking for a DevOps Orchestration Specialist to join a high-profile network and security initiative focused on automation, integration, and Zero Trust policy orchestration.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy working end-to-end - from shaping requirements and defining solutions through to build, documentation, and delivery - within a complex enterprise environment.

The focus is on automating network and security processes across a large-scale global estate. You’ll work closely with architecture, network, and security teams to help deliver both new orchestration capability and improvements to existing automation journeys.

The Role:

  • This is not a pure DevOps engineering role. It is much more focused on integration, orchestration, IAM, ServiceNow, and network security automation.
  • You’ll be helping to automate and orchestrate key processes across identity, access, and Zero Trust policy management, with particular relevance to technologies such as Zscaler, Palo Alto, ServiceNow, Azure/Entra ID, and broader IAM-driven workflows.
  • The Programme Lead is looking for someone who can operate with a high degree of autonomy and take ownership of work from discovery through to delivery.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and delivering automation and orchestration solutions across network and security platforms
  • Building and enhancing integrations across ServiceNow, IAM processes, Active Directory / Entra ID groups, and security tooling
  • Supporting automation of Zero Trust policy creation, assignment, management, and deployment
  • Helping create scalable approaches for policy provisioning, including bulk creation and template-based workflows
  • Developing and supporting API-led integrations, including defining API structures and contracts with business and technical stakeholders
  • Working with existing teams across architecture, network, ServiceNow, and development functions to deliver secure, practical solutions
  • Improving existing joiner/mover/leaver and access-related workflows while also introducing new capabilities

Skills / Experience required:

  • Proven experience in automation and orchestration within enterprise infrastructure, network, or security environments
  • Strong experience with system and service integration, particularly around ServiceNow, IAM, and workflow-driven environments
  • Experience working with REST APIs, including integration design and implementation
  • Solid understanding of network security and/or Zero Trust concepts
  • Exposure to tools such as Zscaler, Palo Alto, Azure AD / Entra ID, SailPoint, or similar
  • Experience using Terraform in an existing enterprise environment
  • Ability to work within DevOps delivery models, version-controlled environments, and CI/CD-led ways of working
  • Scripting capability in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gather requirements and turn them into workable automation solutions
  • Excellent documentation skills and the ability to operate independently
