Engineering Manager
Engineering Manager (eCommerce / Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
Permanent
London (Hybrid 2 days per week)
Up to £80,000 per annum
We are working with a fast-growing consumer brand undergoing a major digital transformation, with ambitious plans to scale its direct-to-consumer (D2C) offering.
As part of this journey, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of their eCommerce platform and build a high-performing, scalable engineering capability.
The Role
You will take ownership of the technical delivery of a D2C platform built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, leading a team of developers and external partners to deliver new features, integrations, and continuous improvements. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical direction, team leadership, and commercial decision-making to support rapid business growth
What You’ll Be Doing
• Owning the technical delivery of a large-scale eCommerce platform
• Leading and developing a team of engineers while coordinating third-party support
• Making key decisions on how features are built, prioritised, and delivered
• Simplifying and improving existing systems, reducing unnecessary complexity
• Overseeing integrations across multiple systems including payments, CRM, subscriptions, and fulfilment
• Working closely with product and commercial teams to align engineering with business goals
• Introducing more efficient ways of working across testing, deployment, and automation
• Evaluating and implementing tools (including AI-driven solutions) to improve productivity
• Collaborating with wider technology teams to ensure consistency across shared systems
What They’re Looking For
• Experience leading engineering teams within eCommerce or digital platforms
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud or comparable platforms
• Confidence working across front-end, integrations, and platform architecture
• Ability to balance speed vs quality, delivering workable solutions quickly and iterating
• Experience working within existing systems and improving them over time
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams
• A commercially aware mindset – understanding how engineering impacts revenue and performance
• Interest in modern development practices, including automation and AI
Why This Role?
• Genuine opportunity to shape a platform during a key growth phase
• Environment that values action and iteration over perfection
• Backed by investment but still able to move at pace
• High level of ownership and visibility across the business
Location
Hybrid working – typically 2 days per week in a London office, with occasional travel as required.
