Contract Server Support Engineer – 24/7 Operations

12-hour shifts | 4-on / 4-off | Days & Nights

A leading technology provider operating large-scale, always-on digital platforms is seeking experienced Contract Support Engineers to join its expanding 24/7 Support Centre. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced, mission-critical environments and enjoy solving complex technical issues across both infrastructure and application layers.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitoring and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments
  • Responding to live production alerts and incidents across a 24/7 platform
  • Performing system updates, patching schedules and ongoing maintenance
  • Investigating application and infrastructure issues before escalating as needed
  • Using tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor or similar monitoring suites
  • Collaborating with 2nd line and dev teams to ensure smooth incident resolution

What we're looking for

  • Strong Microsoft Server background (AD, DNS, RDS, patching, Windows maintenance)
  • Experience supporting high-availability or e-commerce systems (1000s of users)
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools
  • Previous 24/7 support or shift operations experience beneficial
  • Must be able to commit to rotating 12-hour shifts (4-on / 4-off, days & nights)
  • Reliable access to Oxford for onsite work on all shifts

Contract Details

  • 6–12 month contract (extensions likely)
  • Competitive day rate
