Databricks Data Architect – 6 Months Rolling Contract – Hybrid (2 Days in London) – Inside IR35

I'm looking to engage an experienced Databricks Data Architect for a long-term programme focused on data platform modernisation and large-scale architecture delivery.

Skills:

  • 10+ years in BI/Data Warehousing with 4+ years in data/solution architecture, providing technical leadership across data lakes, lakehouses, and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Strong hands-on Databricks, PySpark, Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT tooling (Databricks, SSIS, ADF, Informatica, DataStage), plus experience with batch/streaming pipelines and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Terraform, CodePipeline).
  • Cloud expertise across Azure/AWS/GCP, 3–5 years enterprise data modelling (ERwin/ER Studio/Power Designer), and integration with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redshift, Synapse; knowledge of Snowflake/Synapse/Fabric desirable.
  • Data governance & MDM tooling (Unity Catalog, Profisee, Alation, DQ Pro) and BI experience with Power BI, Tableau, QlikView.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with sector experience in Insurance/Finance preferred.

This role has a multi-stage interview process.
